Lights, Camera, Action! Can We Do a Call?

With the pandemic came the sudden need for reliable communication and collaboration among teams spread all over the globe. Video and audio were the essential tools to make that happen.

But mimicking a face-to-face encounter with video conferencing remains the Holy Grail of unified communications and collaboration.

The good news is that video hardware companies continue innovating and delivering better video experiences.

Coolpo, a company specialising in AI video conferencing solutions using their MeetingFlex™ Technology, recently launched its AI Huddle Mini Lite. This AI-assisted compact and portable camera takes another step forward in achieving the goal of a face-to-face, in-person experience.

It's designed for hybrid workers who need a flexible and versatile video conferencing solution that can adapt to different scenarios and environments.

In an exclusive interview with UC Today, Girlen at Coolpo explained the main features and benefits of the AI Huddle Mini Lite.

The AI Huddle Mini Lite has four main AI features that can be adjusted according to the user's preferences.

This feature automatically frames the group using its 120-degree wide-angle lens and auto-framing function. The camera can detect onsite participants and display them perfectly on the screen. This feature suits group users who join a meeting from a conference room or a shared space.

This feature shows up to 7 onsite participants’ headshots on individual frames using its 4K conference camera. The AI identifies the participants automatically and captures their facial features and expressions. This feature provides a more immersive experience for the remote participants who can see each person's face more clearly and the whole meeting area simultaneously.

This feature blocks out the background noise using its built-in microphone. The microphone has three levels of sensitivity: low, medium, and high. The low sensitivity will only pick up the voices in the immediate area, while the high sensitivity will capture more people near the camera. This feature ensures that the remote participants are heard clearly.

This feature allows users to toggle the individual mode using CoolpoTools for Mini Lite. The camera will focus on the user even if they are sitting, standing, or walking. This feature is ideal for solo users who want to deliver a presentation in solitude or in a crowded room. Frame Master individual mode ensures that users are front and centre even in busy workspaces.

According to Girlen, the AI Huddle Mini Lite offers several significant benefits for hybrid workers.

The camera is small and lightweight, making it easy to carry around and use anywhere. It can be plugged into any Mac or Windows computer using a USB cable. It also has a privacy shutter that can be manually closed when not in use.

The camera is compatible with any video conferencing platform or software, such as Zoom, Teams, Skype, and Webex. It does not require additional drivers or installation.

The camera is priced at $220 USD.

The camera can be configured using Coolpo's software, which can be downloaded from their website. The software allows users to switch between the AI and non-AI modes and choose their desired field of view.

"The only reality is before the camera," the Italian film director Bernardo Bertolucci once said. The reality is today's remote and hybrid workers benefit from AI's technical advances to deliver an enhanced reality that brings them closer to their colleagues.
